Old Monk Scalp?
A guildie & I were trying out a build last night. We needed 16 in smiting. Somehow he couldnt reach 16, then we discovered his scalp didnt have any attribute to it at all, other than the rune. Was there a time that Scalps were available without any attribute?
heres a pic of the scalp. http://img256.imageshack.us/my.php?image=noatths8.jpg |

Not odd, only suboptimal. Some armorers still give the option to make attribute-less headgear; there is just little reason to do so. I think maybe they used to be less expensive, but that was changed back when insignias were introduced to Tyria and Cantha.

We went to Droks where this scalp was originally purchased, and there was no scalp available without an attribute. 4 scalps available, 1 for each monk attribute. That is the only thing I can think of, this was bought before they allowed insignias on Prophecies armor & he bought a Radiant Headpiece back in the day. |

Btw, Corwen in Ascalon is an example of those who still offer "bland" headgear. That should probably be removed from the game; I can't think of any reason to buy it. |
